Quiz: How does Australia rank?Select the rank that you believe represents Australia’s relative position among the 18 rich democracies. Please note that data on the income inequality index and on the gap between rich and poor is available for seventeen countries. Data on public child care places is available for fourteen countries. Higher ranks mean that you believe Australia is performing relatively better and lower ranks mean worse. You may find the following guide useful: excellent or best practice, ranks 1–3; very good, ranks 4–6; good, ranks 7–9; moderate, ranks 10–12; poor, ranks 13–15; very poor or worst practice, 16–18. On the indicators themselves, a high value is worse for most indicators: higher greenhouse gases per capita means a lower rank. For three indicators, a high value is better, and means a higher rank. These indicators are: the amount of paid maternity leave, the number of publicly funded child care places, and GDP per capita. |
